A Case Report of Clinical Effects of Complex Korean Medicine Treatment in Patients with Scleroderma Caused by Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis

Abstract

|
Objectives: This study is to report a case on a patient with Scleroderma Caused by Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. This patient¡¯s symptoms were improved by the Complex Korean Medicine Treatment.
Methods: The patient was treated for 20 days with acupuncture, moxa treatment, physical therapy, herbal medicine (Ganghwalbinsosan, ˶üÀÞ±áÌߤ), and herbal dressing therapy(Dohongsamultang, ÓþûõÞÌÚª÷·).
Results: NRS and mRSS were used to assess patient¡¯s symptoms daily morning and to observe the changes of symptoms. After 20 days of the treatments, the patient showed remarkable improvement of the main symptoms of pain, pruritus and scleroderma of left leg.
Conclusions: This case study showed that symptoms in patient with Scleroderma Caused by Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis were significantly improved by the Korean medicine treatment, such as acupuncture, moxa treatment, herbal medicine, and herbal dressing therapy.
